Story:
Daisy is having her yearly visit to the mushroom kingdom but when she gets there, Bowser sieges the Mushroom Kingdom to end the Mario Bros. and Princess Peach once and for all. Meanwhile th the kingdom of Hyrule Link just saved Zelda from Gannon When Gannon's Spirit casts a spell on Zelda which warped her to another dimention. Link was wondering where Zelda went, when Navi suggested, "I bet the great tree knows where Zelda is!" So link and Navi visit the great tree and tells them that Zelda is in the Kingdom of Mushrooms. The Great Tree offers to Warp Link there and does so, but link got there right in the middle of Bowser's attack and a gaurd toad mistakes him for another gaurd and rushes him to Peach's Castle. Meanwhile, Toadsworth for seen the attack and without taking questions rushed Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, and 3 random toads in to the "Star Vault". Link saw Princess Peach and thought it was Zelda and rushed into the Vault after them. The "Star Vault" is where all of the mushroom kingdom's stars are hidden away from tyrants like Bowser. When the door shuts behind link and the others, Link realizes that Zelda is no where to be found... Peach and everyone else introduces them selves to Link and Link, tells them why he is here. Mario and the gang decide to help Link, but first Mario wants to take care of Bowser. After Mario Learns this he thinks it would be easy to just get back through the door, but it has a star lock on it which can only be opened with a certain number of stars. Peach inspects it and says that it was not there before... Just then a note slips under the door, it's from Toadsworth, but Bowser Comes out of no where and kidnaps Peach! 2 of the toads rush after bowser following him into a striped door that Mario finds very familier (Super Mario 2) and the door shuts behind them and a star lock twinkles into place when mario tries opening the door. The Star Lock is labeled, "World 8 - Bowser's Lava Land". Luigi picks up the note that Toadsworth left. It read: "Dear Princess and Mario Bros. , The Star vault's stars are protected by mazes or levels that guarded the star's original location. Still confused old bean? It as if you went back in time to get all those stars again but they are guarded by projections of the enemies that were there originally, I hope this makes things less foggy!" Then Link points out that the other gates were locked exept the one labeled "World 1 - Sunshine Valley". And so you adventure Begins!
